At Avanti House, the wellbeing of students and staff is central to school life. Guided by the Avanti Way, we take a holistic approach that nurtures physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health—promoting balance, purpose, and compassion. Collective Worship, inspired by the Bhagavad Gita, encourages reflection through meditation, service, music, and prayer. Spiritual growth is supported through daily yoga, mindfulness, PRE lessons, festival celebrations, chaplaincy, and leadership as Spiritual Ambassadors. Staff wellbeing is equally valued, with regular initiatives and reflective sessions fostering mindfulness, community, and a positive, supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

Avanti House Secondary School is proud to be at the heart of our local community, fostering strong connections and providing a welcoming space for all. We strive to ensure that we nurture compassion through service.

At Avanti House Secondary School, we believe learning should inspire curiosity beyond the classroom. We offer a wide range of educational visits, retreats, and expeditions—both locally and internationally that enrich students’ personal, academic, and spiritual development. These experiences support the Avanti ethos nurturing global awareness, character growth, and a deeper sense of connection to the world around us.

Beyond The Classroom

Our curriculum is designed to immerse students in powerful knowledge across a broad range of subjects. It fosters intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the world around them.

Through rich academic content and meaningful dialogue, we nurture students’ sense of identity, perspective, and purpose. This foundation empowers them to engage thoughtfully, collaborate responsibly, and contribute positively to society both now and in the future.

Academic Life

Yoga and meditation are an integral part of our approach to wellbeing and personal growth. Embedded into the school week, these practices help students develop focus, resilience, and self-awareness, while supporting both their mental and physical health. Rooted in the Avanti Way, our sessions promote mindfulness, inner calm, and a balanced lifestyle equipping students with lifelong tools to navigate challenges with clarity and confidence.

Yoga & Meditation

We offer a dynamic co-curricular programme that enriches students’ education and supports their personal development. Our wide range of clubs and opportunities includes STEM on Track, Duke of Edinburgh Award, performing arts, sports teams, debating, creative writing, languages, and visual arts. Rooted in the Avanti Way, our enrichment programme supports holistic development, helping every student grow with confidence, compassion, and a strong sense of purpose.

Travel & Expeditions

Mealtimes are an important part of our school culture and ethos. We proudly serve fresh, hot, and nutritious vegetarian meals provided by Govinda’s, our dedicated school caterer.

All meals are fully vegetarian and prepared without eggs, mushrooms, nuts, onions, or garlic ensuring they are both allergy-conscious and aligned with our values.

Sharing wholesome food together supports not just physical wellbeing, but also community, gratitude, and mindfulness making lunchtime a meaningful and nourishing part of each day at Avanti.
